Co-sponsored by the Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies (SIAIS), ShanghaiTech University, and the Shanghai ChemPartner Co. Ltd., the 2013 Frontier Forum of Novel Therapeutics Discovery and Development was held at the Zhangjiang campus of ShanghaiTech on October 29th, 2013.
The forum focused on the frontiers in antibody research & development, and the strategy & new development in drug discovery. Eleven leading experts from world-famous universities and pharmaceutical companies, including Professor Yigong Shi (Dean of Tsinghua’s School of Life Sciences), Professor Yajun Guo (Director of PLA General Hospital Cancer Center), Professor Zhinan Yin (Dean of Nankai’s College of Life Sciences), Professor Peter Senter (Vice President of Chemistry at Seattle Genetics), Professor Giulio Draetta (University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center), Dr. Arthur Taveras (President of ShangPharma, ChemPartner), etc., were invited and gave excellent talks. More than 180 visitors from over 50 research organizations and pharmaceutical companies joined the forum.
Professor Jie Yin, Vice President of ShanghaiTech Executive Committee, delivered an opening welcome speech. Professor Biao Jiang (Executive Director of SIAIS), Professor Guang Yang (Deputy Director of SIAIS) and Professor Gregory Verdine (CEO of Warp Drive Bio.) attended the forum and served as chairs.
